Steel Dri-Dock/Boat Hoist

Boat Hoists

Structural tubular steel has greater resistance to withstand heavy wave action and storm damage.

When selecting the correct model “Dri-Dock” boat lift for your boat, two main areas must be considered:

  1. Total boat weight is your most important consideration. You must add the weights of your hull, motor, battery and maximum gas capacity, PLUS and an additional 20% to your total weights to cover your accessories and gear.
  2. The beam or width of your boat is next. You must have enough room between the boat and posts to allow for easy entering and leaving of the lift.
  3. Maximum weight capacities of boat lifts are based on the positioning of the boat on the lift with the stern (rear) of the boat on the winch end of the lift. Positioning the stern of the boat at the end of the lift opposite the winch end will result in a decrease of 1/3 the maximum weight capacity of the boat lift. Example: 2,400 lb maximum weight capacity boat lift is decreased to a maximum weight capacity of 1,600 lbs.
